La investigación Imaginarios urbanos de Ibagué: miradas de un grupo de prostitutas quiere rescatar las características simbólicas de la ciudad desde las mujeres que por su oficio se encuentran estigmatizadas. Sin embargo, este trabajo no pretende mostrarlas como mujeres excéntricas, sino demostrar que son sujetos críticos que han construido ideas complejas sobre la ciudad. De manera que aquí se indaga sobre diferentes elementos que componen la urbe. Para tal efecto se consideran dos grandes categorías: las cualidades y las calificaciones. Por lo tanto, en este trabajo se encuentran sus percepciones frente a circunstancias como el carácter de los habitantes, las diferencias entre el día y la noche, las calles agradables y desagradables y las ciudades que ellas consideran cercanas o lejanas. Por otra parte, las mujeres también califican los servicios públicos, la educación, la salud y la política nacional y local. Sumado a esto, ellas aportan posibles soluciones, desde su punto de vista, para mejorar y solucionar las dificultades que ellas han identificado en Colombia e Ibagué. Así pues este proyecto muestra la relación que establece un grupo de ciudadanas con la urbe que habitan.

The research Urban imaginaries of Ibague: glances from a group of prostitutes wants to rescue the symbolic characteristics of the city from the women who are stigmatized because of their job. However, this work does not purport to show them as eccentric women, but shows that they are critic people who are built complex ideas about the city. So that,here it is inquired about the different elements that compose the city. For this purpose it is considered two categories: the qualities and the qualifications. So, in this work it may be found their perceptions in front of circumstances like the personality of the citizens, the differences between day and night, the pleasant and unpleasant streets and the cities that they consider close and distant. Moreover, the women qualify the public services, the education, the healthcare system and the national and local political issues. In addition, they provide possible solutions, from their point of view, for improve and solve the difficulties that they have identified in Colombia and Ibague. Thus, this project shows the relation between a group of inhabitant with the city they live in. Keywords: Imaginaries, prostitution, city, perception.
