El problema de la reprobación escolar es significativo, la comunidad educativa se integra para buscar respuestas a este enigma de la Institución Educativa Técnica La Sagrada Familia de Ibagué. Existe pérdida del año lectivo en un alto índice porcentual, en el grado sexto comparado con los demás grados. Se pretende develar los factores incidentes de la pérdida del año escolar. Este fenómeno es generado por muchos factores y está asociado con la deserción escolar, el fracaso escolar y la mortalidad académica, las dificultades académicas, mal uso del tiempo libre, problemas de convivencia escolar, inasistencia, bajo rendimiento académico y la vida familiar. Todas estas categorías y subcategorías del estudio y en general de los factores de reprobación, afectan directa o indirectamente el sistema educativo. La deserción escolar es el abandono parcial o definitivo de las responsabilidades académicas del niño o del joven de la escuela, afectando a todo el sistema educativo, familiar y social. El fracaso escolar, es cuando el estudiante no alcanza la promoción al final del recorrido del año escolar y suele estar afectado por muchos factores que más adelante destacaremos. La mortalidad académica se da durante el proceso del año escolar, periódico, trimestral, semestral y al finalizar el año lectivo, provocando la deficiencia escolar institucional. La investigación, está direccionada desde los parámetros del enfoque cualitativo; por cuanto analiza las realidades subjetivas de los factores del estamento, estudiantes con relación a la reprobación escolar, también contrasta o triangula los resultados que se obtengan entre los diferentes registros encontrados del análisis de las categorías y subcategorías del estudio. La investigación etnográfica, es el tipo de investigación a implementar, porque utiliza el método de análisis de registros, observaciones, encuestas, entrevistas y la participación de los diferentes actores en la búsqueda de la solución a la problemática.

The issue of academic failure is significant, the educational community is involved to seek answers to the enigma of the Technical Institution the Sagrada Familia. It exists a loss of the school year in a high percentage index, specifically in sixth grade in comparison with the other grades. It is intend to expose the incident factors of the loss of the academic year. This phenomenon is generated by many factors and is associated with school dropout, scholar failure, academic difficulties, bad use of free time, bad scholar coexistence, poor academic performance, family life and non-attendance of classes. All these categories and subcategories of the study and in general the factors of reprobation, those affect directly or indirectly the educational system. School dropout is the partial or definitive abandonment of the academic responsibilities of the child or young person in the school, regularly affecting the entire educational system, family and social. School failure means not reaching the promotion by the student at the end of the school year and it is usually affect by many factors that we will highlight later. The research is oriented from the parameters of the qualitative approach; therefore, it analyzes the subjective realities of the factors of the school statements, students in relation to school failure, it also contrasts or triangulates the results that are obtain between the different records founded on the analysis of the categories and subcategories of the study. The ethnographic research is the type of research to be implement in this study because it uses the method of analysis of records, observations, surveys, interviews and the participation of different actors in the pursuit of a solution to the problem.
