El presente trabajo analiza las relaciones de poder entre los gobiernos civiles y los oficiales de las milicias del Estado soberano del Tolima entre 1863 – 1886, En la primera parte, se presenta un balance historiográfico respecto al tema de las fuerzas armadas en Latinoamérica en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y el problema de las relaciones cívico-militares en la historiografía colombiana para el mismo periodo. En la segunda parte, se plantea la estructura organizacional de la milicia en el Estado del Tolima con base a las leyes, decretos y diferentes constituciones en el Estado. En la tercera parte, apoyado en un ejercicio prosopografico, se analiza las características de los gobernantes de los diferentes regímenes de gobierno que se dieron al interior del Estado y se caracteriza y las tendencias generales e históricas de los oficiales de las milicias. Con base esos elementos se establecen el tipo de relaciones cívico-militares que se dieron entre los civiles y los oficiales de la milicia en el Estado. The present work analyzes the relations of power between the civil governments and the officials of the militias of the sovereign State of Tolima between 1863 - 1886, In the first part presents a historiography’s sheep with regard to the topic of the armed forces in Latin America in the second half of the 19th century and the problem of the civic-military relations in the Colombian historiography for the same period, at the second part, the appears the militia`s organization in the State of the Tolima with base to the laws, decrees and different constitutions of the State, at third report rested on an exercise prosopography, there are analyzed the characteristics of the leaders of the different rate of government who gave each other to the interior of the State, as it characterizes and to sketch the general and historical trends of the officials of the militias.
