Esta investigación se enfoca en analizar las relaciones existentes entre la identidad comunitaria y la memoria colectiva en la construcción social del territorio para el empoderamiento de los habitantes del barrio La Gaviota. Para estudiarlas, este documento se desarrolla desde el enfoque metodológico de la fenomenología, ya que esta permite abordar la investigación a partir de las relaciones de afecto, identidad y memoria que establecen las personas con el territorio. Por esta razón, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la relación entre la construcción social del espacio de jóvenes escolarizados y líderes sociales del barrio La Gaviota con la memoria colectiva e identidad comunitaria en procesos de resistencia y empoderamiento durante los 10 últimos años, partiendo del Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial (POT) más reciente. Para dar cumplimento al objetivo de la investigación, se emplearon algunos métodos y procedimientos del enfoque hermenéutico. En primer lugar, se realizaron mapeos colectivos a jóvenes escolarizados y posteriormente se implementaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a líderes comunitarios. Al aplicar la metodología, los resultados esperados responden a los objetivos, dando cuenta de la memoria colectiva, la identidad comunitaria y la resistencia comunitaria. Las cartografías colectivas evidencian la apropiación del territorio por parte de los jóvenes del barrio La Gaviota y las entrevistas semiestructuradas aplicadas a los líderes comunitarios permitieron encontrar un hilo conductor entre identidad y memoria a través de la lectura e interpretación de los relatos.

This research focuses on analyzing the existing relationships between community identity and collective memory in the social construction of the territory for the empowerment of the inhabitants of La Gaviota neighborhood. In order to study them, this paper is developed from the methodological approach of phenomenology, since this allows to approach the research from the relationships of affection, identity and memory that people establish with the territory. For this reason, the objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the social construction of the space of young schoolchildren and social leaders of La Gaviota neighborhood with the collective memory and community identity in processes of resistance and empowerment in the last 10 years, starting from the most recent Land Use Plan (POT). In order to fulfill the research objective, some methods and procedures of Participatory Action Research were used. First, collective mappings were carried out with young school children and then semi-structured interviews were conducted with community leaders. When the methodology was applied, the expected results respond to the objectives, showing collective memory, community identity and community resistance. The collective cartographies show the appropriation of the territory by the young people of La Gaviota neighborhood and the semi-structured interviews applied to the community leaders allowed finding a common thread between identity and memory through the reading and interpretation of the stories.
