El proyecto de novela gráfica “Florece en mí” se divide en tres capítulos donde se resalta el cómo los estereotipos de género han influido en la manera como nos percibimos a nosotros mismos y lo que se espera de nosotros como individuos en sociedad. Es parte de una experiencia personal que he experimentado a causa de ir en contra de los parámetros establecidos en cuanto al género desde muy temprana edad, y del cómo la mirada desaprobatoria del otro implica una serie de conflictos internos entre ese querer ser y deber ser y la lucha por ser auténtico en un mundo que se creó para heterosexuales, a partir de estereotipos sociales y culturales que determinaron lo “correcto”. La argumentación se articula con la realización de una novela gráfica que contará, en forma de situaciones y relatos, las distintas maneras del cómo influye en los sujetos la búsqueda de ser ellos mismos. Debemos romper y desligarnos de esos patrones aprendidos, cuestionando los estereotipos de género y deconstruyéndolos desde nuestro actuar cotidiano. Ser nosotros mismos es una forma más de combatir la comprensión tradicional del género y asumir la diversidad en nuestro día a día.

The graphic novel project "Florece en mí" is divided into three chapters that highlight how gender stereotypes have influenced the way we perceive ourselves and what is expected of us as individuals in society. It is part of a personal experience that I have experienced because of going against the established parameters regarding gender from a very early age, and how the disapproving look of the other implies a series of internal conflicts between wanting to be and should be and the struggle to be authentic in a world that was created for heterosexuals, based on social and cultural stereotypes that determined the "right" thing to do. The argument is articulated with the realization of a graphic novel that will tell, in the form of situations and stories, the different ways in which the search to be themselves influences the subjects. We must break and detach ourselves from these learned patterns, questioning gender stereotypes and deconstructing them from our daily actions. Being ourselves is one more way of combating the traditional understanding of gender and assuming diversity in our daily lives. Keywords: gender stereotypes, identity, masculinities, graphic novels.
