Este trabajo de grado presenta algunos factores de cambio en la agricultura del departamento del Tolima durante el Frente Nacional (1958-1974). Para ello se describe de manera general la política pública que direccionó los cambios institucionales durante la Reforma Agraria en el territorio nacional y los alcances de la misma en el plano regional, analizando a través de los métodos cualitativo y cuantitativo, observando los impactos de la reforma para medir si hubo desarrollo agrario en el Tolima durante el periodo señalado. Se asume desde la historia económica las categorías de instituciones, cambio institucional, organismos y desarrollo económico. De esta forma el soporte teórico es el neoinstitucionalismo; abordando temas como política pública agraria, la redistribución de la tierra, el crédito de fomento agrícola y el crecimiento de la población.

This degree work presents some change factors in the agriculture of Tolima department during the National Front (1958-1974). For this, the public policy that directed the institutional changes during the Agrarian Reform in the national territory and its scope at the regional level is analyzed in a general way, analyzing through the qualitative and quantitative methods, observing the impacts of the reform to establish if there was agrarian development in Tolima during the mentioned period. Institutions categories, institutional change, organisms and economic development are assumed from economic history. In this way the theoretical support is neo-institutionalism; addressing issues such as agrarian public policy, the land redistribution, credit for agricultural development and population growth.
