dc.description.abstractEl ajedrez es un juego que podría ser materia obligatoria en el currículo educativo. Son numerosas las investigaciones que corroboran sus beneficios en el desarrollo intelectual del estudiante de básica primaria. En el municipio de Ibagué, existe un acuerdo firmado por los concejales en el cual se establece promover la cultura ajedrecística en los docentes y estudiantes de Ibagué, pero algunas instituciones no promueven la enseñanza-aprendizaje del ajedrez. Es por eso, que el objetivo de esta investigación ha sido proponer una secuencia didáctica de ajedrez que contribuya al desarrollo del coeficiente intelectual y las funciones ejecutivas en estudiantes de 4° de primaria de la institución educativa técnica la sagrada familia del municipio de Ibagué. En el estudio participaron 49 estudiantes de la sede Julia Calderón. El diseño fue de tipo cuasi-experimental en formato pretest-postest. Se utilizaron diferentes instrumentos para identificar: 1) los conocimientos de ajedrez, 2) el coeficiente intelectual y 3) las funciones ejecutivas de los participantes. En la comparación de los resultados finales se observan aportes positivos en los resultados del coeficiente intelectual y las funciones ejecutivas de: Memoria de trabajo y monitorización, iniciativa y planificación y organización de materiales en los estudiantes; que pueden estar relacionadas con la práctica sucesiva del ajedrez. Se recomienda a la institución implementar un programa didáctico de actividades curriculares de ajedrez.spa
dc.description.abstractChess should be an obligatory subject in the educational curriculum. There are numerous researches that corroborate its benefits in intellectual development in elementary school students. In the municipality of Ibagué, there is an agreement signed (2005) by the town councilors in which it is established to promote the chess culture in the teachers and students of Ibagué, but some institutions do not promote chess teaching-learning. That is why the objective propose a chess didactic sequence that contributes to the development of executive functions and IQ in 4th grade students of the technical educational institution La Sagrada Familia in the municipality of Ibagué. 49 students from the Julia Calderon campus participated in the study. The design was quasi-experimental in pretest-posttest format. Different instruments were used to identify: 1) chess knowledge, 2) executive functions, and 3) knowledge of chess. The results show that chess practice contributes to the development of the IQ and executive functions of: Working memory and monitoring, initiative and planning, organization of materials in students.
