dc.description.abstractEl mundo está cambiando. Internet está modificando los hábitos de vida de la sociedad moderna. La tecnología ha permeado la vida de las personas y herramientas como Internet y las redes sociales ahora son parte de la cotidianidad de las personas, transformando significativamente la forma de comunicarnos. Las nuevas generaciones no han sido ajenas a estas transformaciones. De la misma forma que algunos crecimos en su momento, por ejemplo, influenciados por el auge y el crecimiento de la informática o los videojuegos, los jóvenes de hoy en día, los dueños del futuro, están haciendo lo propio con Internet: han nacido con la Red, están creciendo con la Red y están viviendo con la Red. En el ámbito educativo se evidencia este fenómeno. Los educandos manejan a la perfección las redes sociales, se encuentran registrados en más de una, les permite montar fotos, videos y hacer comentarios sobre muchos temas que les interesan, creando así una identidad digital propia; pero no aprovechan los beneficios que estas les brinda con respecto a su aprendizaje. El estudio que a continuación se presenta tiene como objetivo analizar la influencia que ejercen las redes sociales de Internet en el rendimiento académico del área de Informática en los estudiantes del grado 8° y 9° del Instituto Promoción Social del Norte de Bucaramanga. En el desarrollo de la investigación se hace un diagnóstico sobre el uso y la frecuencia con que los estudiantes utilizan las redes sociales y la motivación que ellas ejercen hacia el estudio y el aprendizaje del área de Informática, así como su relación con el rendimiento académico. Esta investigación presenta un enfoque cuantitativo y utiliza un diseño exploratorio-descriptivo utilizando como instrumentos para la recolección y análisis de datos la encuesta y la revisión documental. Además se realizó una aproximación con un tema poco estudiado y se hizo el reconocimiento del problema a partir de la observación participante de los investigadores. Para la presentación y análisis de la información se utilizó el programa estadístico Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) versión 20, que permitió hacer un análisis cuantitativo con una interpretación cualitativa de los resultados obtenidos.spa
dc.description.abstractABSTRACT. The world is changing. Internet is changing the habits of life of modern society. The technology has permeated the lives of the people and tools such as the Internet and social networks are now part of the everyday life of the people, transforming significantly the way we communicate with each other. The new generations have not been outside these transformations. In the same way that some have grown up in his time, for example, influenced by the rise and growth of computing or video games, the young people of today, the owners of the future, are doing the same with the Internet: They were born with the network, are growing up with the network and are living with the network. In the field of education is evidence this phenomenon. The students manage to perfection the social networks, are registered in more than one social network, they are allowed to upload photos, videos and comment on many subjects of their interest, thus creating their own digital identity; but they do not take advantage of the benefits that this tool gives them with regard to their learning. The study presented below has as objective to analyze the influence of the social networks of the Internet in the academic performance of the area of Information Technology in grades 8° and 9° students of the Instituto Promoción Social del Norte of Bucaramanga. In the development of the research it was made a diagnosis on the use and the frequency the students use social networks and the motivation that they show towards the study and learning of the area of computing, as well as its relationship with the academic performance. This research presents a quantitative approach and takes into account a exploratory design-descriptive using as tools for the data collection and analysis of the survey and the documentary review. He also did an approximation with a topic that has not been studied and it was the recognition of the problem from the participant observation of the researchers. For the presentation and analysis of the information were analyzed using the statistical program Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 20, which allowed us to make a quantitative analysis with a qualitative interpretation of the results obtainedspa
