dc.description.abstract	Este proyecto nace gracias a la transmisión oral de historias de un pasado de violencia en el territorio colombiano, que han sido contadas y que hacen parte del legado cultural de nuestra sociedad. En algunas ocasiones estos relatos han sido transformados hasta convertirse en ficción, determinado en las diferentes interpretaciones de los individuos, a través del tiempo. Con base en estas historias se generan imágenes ambiguas, que transitan en la memoria de las personas que vivieron en carne propia dichos sucesos; como también en la memoria de quienes escucharon o recibieron la información acerca de eso. El proyecto Tanatomaniaco explora la tridimensionalidad, específicamente la talla en madera asumida como lenguaje expresivo, para indagar la historia de la Violencia en Colombia transcurrida en la mitad del siglo XIX; basado en el estudio de textos, relatos y entrevistas de la época. El Corte de Corbata, es una de las imágenes que hacen parte de las historias de mutilación y alteración del cadáver, practicadas en esa época, y su carga simbólica representó las fuerzas e intereses del momento, que han dejado grandes interrogantes, así como huellas imborrables en nuestra memoria colectiva.	spa
dc.description.abstract	This project was born thanks to the oral transmission of stories of a violent past in Colombia. These relates have been engraved as a part of the cultural legacy of our society. In some occasions these stories have been transformed into fiction, shaped by the interpretations of individuals through time. Based on these stories, ambiguous images emerged and transited in the memory of the people who lived in their own flesh those violent events. Also, in the memory of those that listened to the stories. Tanatomaniaco is a project that uses a tri-dimensional approach, based on wood carving, as an expressive language to translate the history of the Violence in Colombia bout in the first half of the XIX century. The raw information for Tanatomaniaco is rooted in the study of written records, stories, and interviews. The "Corte de corbata" (throat's cut), is one of the images that are part of the stories of mutilation and alterations to the corpse practiced at during the Violence; its symbolic meaning represented the forces and interest of the social and political currents in Colombia of that time. With Tanatomaniaco, I pursue a decomposition of the Corte de Corbata to demystify and enrich the collective memory surrounding the stories of the Violence with the hope that such events do not repeat in the future.
