Knowledge of the management and use of wood is important for its use and commodification. Currently the species Tachigali Colombian Dwyer (Guamo querré) is of the potentially commercializable woods and there are no scientific studies that define their properties; For this reason, it is sought to obtain information that allows a rational use and management by the community that benefits from it. To achieve this, a non-destructive test was applied using the TreeSonic equipment to find the modulus of elasticity in nine (9) standing trees. Samples were taken for the anatomical description by means of the macro and microscopic observation of the Colombian Tachigali species Dwyer, using the description guide of the IAWA and later the non destructive test was carried out in fifteen (15) planks in the dry state to the air of The same species. The destructive tests were also carried out to know the physical and mechanical properties, evaluating the parallel compression to the fibers (air dry) and the static flexion in green and dry to the air, as stipulated in the NTC. The values obtained from the different tests were compared by ANAVA in order to compare the two methods used and determine their effectiveness by analyzing whether they have a statistically significant relationship between the two methodologies. The ANAVAS results with the Modulus of Elasticity found in both tests have a positive correlation and a significant statistical relation, concluding that this equipment is reliable to find the modulus of elasticity Keywords: Module of elasticity, destructive tests, non- destructive tests, anatomy.
